Amazon is trying to clear the air after Mandy Moore said the company delivered a package to her in-laws’ home, which was lost in the L.A. wildfires.
Earlier this week, the This Is Us star posted a photo on her Instagram Story of the package Amazon delivered to the demolished home with the text: “Do better, Amazon. Can we not have better discretion than to leave a package at a residence that no longer exists? This is my mother and father in law’s home.”
Amazon has since apologized to the actress and is trying to figure out what happened, according to a statement sent to NBC News.

“Those who deliver on our behalf have been advised to use discretion in areas impacted by wildfires — especially if it involves delivering to a damaged home — that clearly didn’t happen here,” Amazon spokesperson Steve Kelly shared.
Moore also lost her own home to the fires. She posted videos to Instagram saying how she was “devastated” and “absolutely numb.” After the tragedy, Moore and her family sheltered with friend Hilary Duff and her husband.
The A Walk to Remember actress has since updated her fans via Instagram about the condition of her house. On Jan. 9, she said the “main part” of her home was “still standing.”
On Tuesday, Moore posted a message on Instagram — along with a photo of her house that went up in flames — looking back on the past month with a caption that reads in part: “We never got an evacuation notice. Sometimes in the quieter moments of processing the last month, I play the game of what would have happened if I didn’t have my phone next to me, playing my typical ‘piano for deep sleep’ mix as I nursed Lou before bed, so I could answer the call from my brother-in-law?”
Last month, Moore’s This Is Us co-star Sterling K. Brown gave an update on how she was doing.: “[I] talked to Milo [Ventimiglia, who also lost his home in the fires], talked to Mandy. Talked to them both. It’s difficult. They’re just very much in the midst of all of it. It’s one day at a time.”
