Lindsay Lohan is giving fans a dose of nostalgia by starring in another life-swapping movie — this time for Netflix.
In rom-com Irish Wish, Lohan plays Maddie, who is down on her luck when the love of her life gets engaged to her best friend. While in Ireland for the destination wedding, Maddie wishes she was the one marrying him and wakes up as the bride-to-be. Is the man she thought was her true love really the one even though he’s betrothed to someone else, or will she fall for someone else?
In the trailer, Maddie travels to Ireland for the nuptials of Paul (Alexander Vlahos), a writer for whom she’s been working as a book editor. On her way to the wedding’s location, she meets a handsome Irish stranger (Ed Speleers) on a bus but realizes that she’s hung up on Paul. While Maddie regrets not telling Paul how she feels, she doesn’t want to ruin his wedding, as he’s engaged to her best friend, Emma (Elizabeth Tan).

Maddie’s mom (Jane Seymour) urges her to “speak up” for herself, but she feels it’s too late and instead makes a wish to be the one marrying Paul. But Maddie quickly learns to be careful what she wishes for when she wakes up in bed with Paul, realizing that she’s swapped lives with Emma.
When she keeps crossing paths with the man she met on the bus, she begins to question what she wants. “I know this sounds strange but I’m not sure this is supposed to be my life,” she says. With the help of her friend Heather (Ayesha Curry), Maddie navigates her romantic entanglements as she strives to find true love.
The movie’s plot is reminiscent of Lohan’s other popular movies Just My Luck and Freaky Friday. In Just My Luck, Lohan starred alongside Chris Pine as the luckiest woman in New York City, who trades luck with an unfortunate janitor. Freaky Friday saw Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis as a daughter and mother who swap bodies.
Irish Wish, which was directed by Janeen Damian (Falling for Christmas) and written by Kirsten Hansen, will be available to stream on Netflix on March 15.
